SANTA MONICA – Day four of the Gold Cup ended all in ties, with Costa Rica tying Canada and Honduras tying French Guiana.
First, Costa Rica took on Canada, and both teams fought hard. Canada was the one who got the scoring started. In minute 26, Davies received the ball on a cross and easily tapped it into the back of the net, putting Canada up 1-0.
Then, just a few minutes before the half, Costa Rica got an equalizer. Calvo headed the ball into the net on a corner kick and tied the game up, 1-1, just in time for half time.
The second half was a quiet one for both teams, with neither one managing to pull ahead. The game ended 1-1.
Then, Honduras took on French Guiana in a match that ended in a scoreless draw. Honduras got some good chances, but was never able to finish.
Despite this, they may still walk away with all 3 points from the game. French Guiana may be forced to forfeit the match after playing with Florent Malouda, someone who FIFA had said was not eligible to play.
Next, Panama will take on Nicaragua today at 3:30, while the USA will play Martinique at 6:00 tonight.
