SANTA MONICA – It’s becoming an annual event for Real Madrid and Bayern to meet in the UEFA Champions League, but this time the two are facing off in the semi-final round of the tournament. While Bayern will be searching for vengence after falling 2-1 to Madrid in the first leg, the Real Madrid has its sight set past Bayern.

Madrid will be seeking its third consecutive EUFA Champions League title, claiming the title as the first team to claim three straight titles, and the reigning champs maintain the momentum to do so going in against Bayern. The Real Madrid has managed to prevent a draw over its last eight games played, averaging 2.5 goals a game.

Bayern will have its hands full heading into tonight’s game against Madrid. Starting with a 0-0-6 run against the reigning champions, Bayern has to score a minimum of two goals to advance in the tournament. However, that may not be harder than it sounds as Real has allowed more than two goals against on 10 different occasions at home this season.

The battle between Madrid and Bayern may be the most anticipated game of the season for the league as it has become a yearly occurrence in the tournament. Madrid and Bayern have met a total of 26 times with Real leading 12-11, playing more than any two teams on the continent.

Fans should expect this game to be tight and heated. Both teams are amongst the top scoring teams in the league, allowing for anything to happen in a single moment as well as Bayern having accumulated 23 yellow cards this season. With the high amount of cards already under Bayern’s belt, it won’t be shocking to see a few red cards fly between these two teams who collected 12 yellows and two reds over two games last season.
