SANTA MONICA – LAFC acquired striker Lee Nguyen from the New England Revolution for $350,000 in general allocation money and an additional $350,000 in Targeted Allocation Money. The 31-year-old leaves the Revolution after six seasons and recording 51 goals and 49 assists.
The new LA attacker helped lead New England to an MLS Cup appearance and earned the Team MVP and MLS Best XI honors in 2014. Nguyen is the second highest scorer in the history of the Revolution. He was also one of the finalists for the MLS MVP Award.
Nguyen brings a dynamic and creative style of play to the pitch. His versatile ability and playing style are expected to create many goal scoring opportunities in LA. After LAFC faced a rough match last Saturday against FC Dallas, Nguyen’s control, precision, and maturity should help the team close more goals and win more games.
Nguyen has recorded 185 MLS starts in his MLS career.
