Boston Breaker star Rose Lavelle is off to a standout start in the NWSL. She has been voted the Player of the Month by the NWSL Media Association, marking the first time a rookie has ever received this honor in their first month in the League.
Lavelle, the number one draft pick in the 2017 NWSL College draft, helped the Breakers clinch two wins and a tie this month. She achieved her first assist in the NWSL two weeks ago, only to outdo it this last week. The 21-year-old midfielder scored her first NWSL goal in the Breakers game against Seattle Reign this past Saturday.
Lavelle was instrumental to their 3-0 win over the Reign, marking the first time the Breakers have beat Seattle, ever. However, Lavelle wasn’t the only standout from the game. Adriana Leon, who was also honored, was voted NWSL Player of the Week for her outstanding play this Saturday.
Lavelle and Leon will be back in action this Sunday, May 7th when the Breakers take on North Carolina Courage at 6:00 PM.

Rose Lavelle got her first assist in the NWSL against Sky Blue FC earlier this month.
